Halong Bay, Hanoi

Part of the reason I wanted to visit Hanoi was to see Halong bay. However, the day of the trip was dull with overcast clouds.

I decided against taking an overnight cruise of the bay and instead opted for a day tour booked from my hotel.  I was so glad for this decision.  The drive to the bay from the city was long, about 3 hours.  I did not really enjoy my trip to the bay as I felt I was being scammed by the tour guide.  However, in spite of that, I made up my mind to enjoy the view and the visit to the limestone caves.  A word of caution: Just be careful who you book the tour from and make a complaint to the company if you don't get what you paid for.
