Ideas on what to buy when travelling

I'm not much of a shopper when travelling, but here are some suggestions.

Turkey

Turkish delights if you have a sweet tooth
Soft, beautiful leather if you have money to spare
Turkish carpets for one of a kind design
Hand-painted ceramics, like one of these for your wine
At the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It's huge and you will get lost but that's part of the fun.
Spices, loose tea, nuts, dried fruits, and other sweets
Turkish lamps
Scarves and fabrics
And if you needed a break, stop by the tea and pastry shops
Hand-painted tiles, lamps and decorative plates
Vietnam
Paper fans, masks, and puppets

Vietnamese coffee
Paper lanterns
 Sarawak, Malaysia

If you have developed a palette for exotic taste, shrimp paste (belacan), dried bean curds, and fermented bean curds.
