Bali - Uluwatu

The temple, located on a cliff. Beautiful but dangerous. Please be careful of your footing.
On a first visit to Uluwatu, our taxi driver hired for the day never warned us about the ferocious monkeys roaming the area.  While enjoying the impressive view, a couple of monkeys landed on my shoulder and my mom's, taking away our glasses and proceeded to drop them over the rocky ledge.  What no one told us was that when a local came around and started asking for money to buy peanuts, fruits, edibles for the monkeys for which the monkeys will then pick and return these items, it would seemed that these monkeys are trained to steal.  My dad's idea was to hold a stick while walking and as the monkeys approach, wield the stick around, and hold on to your personal items tight.

There is a fee to enter the temple.  You will need a sarong and a sash if you are wearing shorts.  The must do here is to watch the sunset and the kecak and fire dance.
