Chilled out

It's one of those day when strangers and front like folks are testy towards you for no particular reason, even when you flashed a smile and a hello.

The Greenhouse

Life has been a challenge lately.  It's one of those challenges where you don't know where you will be, how you will live, and what the future will hold.  To clear my mind and to be mentally focused I went to the greenhouse. Color, it's said to offer a ray of hope and joy to those who seems to feel that there is hopelessness.

When the Skies Open Up

What a difference the sunshine made to the vegetation.  After days of rain, a day of abundant sunshine brings out the vibrant colors and textures in nature.  Just see the evidence in the images taken during a walk.

Heaven in Blue

How I wish for blue skies and hearing the buzzing of bees doing their best to bring us lovely blooms?  Gray clouds with signs of rain is predicted. Hopefully, my dream of bright skies will surface soon.  For now, these images will brighten not only my day but yours too.

Ideas on what to buy when travelling

I'm not much of a shopper when travelling, but here are some suggestions.

Turkey

Turkish delights if you have a sweet tooth

Goreme Open Air museum - Turkey

Goreme open air museum is a vast monastic complex composed of many churches and monasteries from the 10th - 12th centuries.  The open complex is also a UNESCO's world heritage site.

Coppadocia, Turkey

The valley of 'penises'
This got to be the freakish landscape I have ever seen. Rocks formation were a result of volcanic eruptions.

Turkey: Its a dog's and cat's life

My life in ruins
While travelling in Turkey, I encountered many friendly well-fed cats and dogs roaming freely on the streets, parks and ruins.

Celebrating all things summer

Celebrating summer with  sweet cherry tomatoes, fresh baked bread, trying out a new kind of dessert with phyllo sheets and fruits in season to make fruit crisps, a light chocolate cake made with dark cocoa, flour, sunflower oil, sugar and vinegar, growing my own thai basil, and watching nature at its summer best - a misty, humid morning, dark clouds just before a heavy downpour and then watching the sun came up after the storm.

Ravenna, Italy

The central Italian city of Ravenna, is known for its superb Byzantine mosaics. A world heritage site recognized by UNESCO, the cultural heritages include San Vitale, Galla Placidia, Museo Arcivescovile, Batistero Neoiano, and Apollinare Nuovo, monumental treasures that dated back to the 5th century. A very pleasant town with old streets, fine shops and peaceful squares, the Byzantine domes of its churches reminds the city of its Eastern heritage.
