I called Dad and was told that today was the celebration of the end of the moon cake/lantern festival that heralds the start of Fall. After feasting on moon cakes and other dishes, he took the grand-kids to lit lanterns and carry them part way around the village before letting them off into the skies. I decided to have my "little mooncake" observation with a tiny red bean paste moon cake and mousse cakes with tea. For lunch, I prepared a thai chicken soup with steamed savoy cabbage.
Oh I have been feasting on those mooncakes...there were more varieties over here in Penang. Too bad they're SO high in calories!
ReplyDeleteI love mooncakes too. That's why they are sold in small quanitities
